Edwardian Crescent Moon Diamond and Pearl Necklace
A very special piece, originally an antique Edwardian brooch, she has been converted into an amazing and unique necklace. Consisting of twelve sparkling old cut diamonds and thirteen creamy button pearls in an alternating pattern in the form of a crescent moon. It has been meticulously crafted in 18ct yellow gold with platinum tips.
These brooches were typically gifted as honeymoon brooches, as the crescent moon carries symbolic meanings related to feminine power, change, new beginnings and motherhood.
The original brooch was made by Hayden Wheeler and Co circa 1910. they are a very well known and respected jeweller with a book written by Hayden Wheeler in the Metropolitan Museum of Art collection.
This gorgeous pendant is in excellent condition, it has been modified by my jeweller and all of the pearls have been removed and re-glued to make sure they are secure, she is ready to wear everyday.
She has had a new 9ct yellow gold chain added, which I have designed to wear at a 40 cm/43.5cm and 470cm length to show her off no matter what you are wearing. She looks amazing layered with chains both modern and vintage.
