Art Deco Sapphire and Diamond Ring in 18ct White Gold

A very special Art Deco 18ct white gold ring set with an Australian sapphire and old cut diamonds.

This beautiful classic ring features a 0.80 carat emerald cut dark blue, Australian sapphire in a bezel setting with millgrain detail.  It is framed by an octagonal halo of old mine cut diamonds, claw set in a millgrained bezel setting with two larger diamonds to each side and slightly raised, stepping down to another two diamonds on each shoulder.  The band is a flat profile.  The whole setting is 18ct white gold. 

I purchased this piece as a brooch at auction and my very talented jeweller has made her into the gorgeous ring you see now.  He has done a really wonderful job of keeping the overall style of the original brooch in tact.  The band was also part of the original brooch.  She really was a bit of a waste as a brooch and I think the condition of the setting and all the stones will attest to that, they are in excellent condition with no visible wear.  The sapphire is a beautiful deep blue colour and has a lovely clarity with deep electric flashes of colour.   The diamonds are very good quality for antique diamonds and sparkle beautifully.

She comes with an independent replacement valuation for $12,000.  This is a very unique and beautiful ring.  Spectacular as an engagement ring or as a right hand ring.  I think it's safe to say that you will never come across another like her.

Diamonds:   2 x 0.15ct old cut diamonds, 2 x 0.06ct old cut diamonds and 16 x 0.03ct old cut diamonds all are estimated to be D colour and VS2 clarity.  0.90 total carat weight (estimated).
