1926 Victorian Sterling Silver Monogrammed Vesta
A beautifully hand engraved, sterling silver, Victorian Vesta which could be worn as a stunning pendant.
A vesta is a small decorative box that was used to carry matches, and this one is a beautiful example. This piece has hand engraving to the back and front, the whole case is covered in swirling flourishes. On the side is a striker. On the front is engraved a gorgeous gothic "D". She also has the most fabulous large silver bolt ring to attach to or slide along a chain, string of pearls etc.
Made by John Rose of Hockley Street Birmingham, she was assayed in 1926, which officially makes her an antique this year! She is in very good antique condition with no dents or dings, this is probably due to her very solid construction. The lid fits very nicely and the hinge is in great condition. It closes very securely. The bale is also in excellent condition and is very secure. There looks to be a small solder repair on the bale and the bolt ring, but neither are noticeable when worn.
She looks amazing clipped to a watch chain or even worn on a modern silver chain. This is an amazing collectible piece of history. A real statement piece!
Necklaces shown in photos are not included.
