1911 Edwardian 9ct Rose Gold Trombone Link Albert Watch Chain with Fob
A very special Antique Edwardian trombone link double Albert watch chain in solid 9ct rose gold, with a fob, a dog clip and a bolt ring clasp.
A beautiful and very desirable chain, these are getting harder and harder to find, especially ones of a wearable length. This one is 440mm long, the perfect length to layer with your other necklaces and gives a bit of detail and difference with its trombone links. I had my jeweller make two extra links from antique rose gold to give her a bit of extra length.
This antique Albert chain is in excellent antique condition, with hardly any wear. She is a gorgeous rosy gold colour, that only 100 year old gold can be. Every single one of her links is hallmarked for 9 carat gold. She has a dogclip and a beautiful bolt ring clasp. Both are in good condition, work perfectly and are very secure. The dogclip and bolt ring clasp offer endless opportunities to style her, she can be worn without the fob and/or pendants attached easily to either clasp.
On the fob, there is a maker's mark, for James William Benson of Ludgate Hill London. One long link also has the Chester hallmark and a "L" for the year 1911, which is where and when it was assayed to determine it was 9ct gold. There is also a partial maker's mark, however I have not been able to determine who it belongs to.
She comes with an independent replacement valuation for $11,100.
A true investment piece, this necklace is in excellent antique condition. If you are looking for a 9 carat rose gold trombone Albert, you won't find better than this one. A beautiful, versatile and increasingly rare necklace, at a hard to find length. The perfect wear everyday piece.
