Antique 9ct Yellow Gold Shield Watch Medal
A beautiful antique 9ct yellow gold watch medal with a shield design with a raised cartouche.
The most difficult thing when writing about these watch medals is deciding whether they are rose or yellow gold. I would say that this one is a lovely old buttery yellow gold. She could be worn with either a rose or yellow gold chain and I have had a new rose gold bale put on her.
She was made by William Adams of Barr Street, Birmingham UK. One of my favourite medal makers. She has a lovely raised central cartouche with details around the edges, surrounded by flourishes with a crown on top. She is date stamped for 1918 and hallmarked for 9ct gold.
A beautiful medal that would look stunning either clipped to a watch chain or worn on a finer chain. A lovely wear every day piece.
