9ct Antique Yellow Gold Belcher and Double Trombone Albert Chain with Spinning Locket Fob
A beautiful antique Art Deco belcher and double trombone link double Albert watch chain in solid 9ct yellow gold, with a t-bar, a spinning locket fob and two swivel clasps.
A beautiful chain, it has faceted belcher links interspersed with long double trombone (fetter) links. The t-bar, chain and swivels are hallmarked for 9ct gold. She has an elegant gold cased spinning locket fob, with a carnelian on one side and a bloodstone on the other.
I believe the t-bar, chain and one swivel (dog clip) were made by John Mantle of Warstone Lane, Birmingham UK between 1910 and 1920, the other swivel is a replacement one, but a good replacement, it is hallmarked from Charles Daniel Broughton also of Birmingham, UK. The spinning fob is a lovely elegant design with really beautiful sweeping detail in the frame, I believe her to be 9ct gold cased rather than solid gold. She opens and could be used to hold a photo or a small memento.
The chain is 395mm and weighs just over 18 grams, which makes her effortless to wear. Easy to layer with your other necklaces and gives a bit of detail and difference with its beautiful links. Both the swivel clasps are in very good working condition. The necklace is in very good antique condition. She is a lovely antique buttery yellow gold colour, so hard to find antique watch chains in yellow gold. Ready to wear everyday.
