Art Deco 1930's Sapphire and Diamond Three Stone Trilogy Ring in 18ct Gold and Platinum
Once in a lifetime, gorgeous handmade Art Deco ring with a 2.2ct deep blue sapphire with two large European cut diamonds either side, set in platinum with an 18ct yellow gold band.
The natural sapphire is that very desirable deep royal blue colour, she is a faceted round cut and is claw set in platinum, with a spectacular diamond each side. Either one of these diamonds would make a spectacular ring on their own. Each one is estimated to be approximately 1.30 carats The two diamonds are excellent quality and sparkle beautifully, with a combined weight of 2.66 carats. The band is 18ct polished yellow gold.
This stunning, classic ring is in excellent vintage condition, with minimal visible wear, she has obviously been well looked after. The sapphire has a minimal amount of wear to her facets, but this is only visible under magnification. She has beautiful double claws which have been jeweller checked and are in good condition. The band looks like it has been replaced at some point, which would explain the absence of hallmarks however it shows no signs of thinning.
If you have been looking for an antique sapphire three stone ring, you will know how difficult they are to find especially one with diamonds this size. You will be hard pressed to find another near this price.
She was purchased at auction in London and looks to be English made. She would make a spectacular engagement ring or right hand ring. She comes with an independent replacement valuation from Kalmar Antiques of Sydney for $26,800.
