Edwardian 3.0 carat Diamond Five Stone Ring in Platinum and 18ct Yellow Gold
A once in a lifetime, handmade, antique Edwardian 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, three carat old European cut diamond five stone ring.
This is an absolutely stunning antique ring, she has 3.00 carats of the most amazing European cut diamonds, the sparkle is next level. They face up nice and white and there are no eye visible inclusions. Each diamond is basket set in platinum, with a yellow gold half round band with upswept shoulders.
The band shows no signs of thinning, thus I expect it is a replacement band. She is in excellent condition, she had some thinning of her claws and some wear to her underail, but I have had Kalmar Antiques of Sydney laser weld rebuild all her 28 claws, rebuild the worn underail, polish and rhodium plate the platinum sections, so she is now as new.
All five diamonds are old European cut, cut by hand over 100 years ago. They are spectacular and sparkle beautifully. The diamonds face up white, they are included as most old cut diamonds are, but this is not noticeable given their colour and cut. There is a small chip under one of the claws on a secondary diamond, this can only be seen under magnification.
This is a beautiful and very special ring in excellent antique condition. She would make a gorgeous and very substantial engagement ring, or an anniversary ring or special birthday present. A stunning heirloom piece.
She comes with an independent replacement valuation for $26,200 from Kalmar Antiques of Sydney to buy a similar antique ring. She also comes with a second independent replacement valuation for $44,300 to have her remade.
