Victorian Sapphire and Diamond Five Stone Ring in 18ct Yellow Gold
This absolutely gorgeous handmade antique carved half hoop or bridge ring set in 18ct yellow gold has three velvety blue sapphires that are completely mesmerizing. They are complemented by two high quality old mine cut diamonds. With a beautifully carved, intricate gallery and solid yellow gold shank.
The central sapphire is a beautiful blueberry colour with wonderful "windows" that give her fire and life, she is 1.15 carats. The diamonds are each 0.45 carat old cut diamonds that are gorgeous and sparkly, very nice quality for the age, at each of the four corners of the diamonds are mounted smaller rose cut diamonds that give the effect of the diamond filling up the entire space between the sapphires. The two oval cut sapphires at each end have a total weight of 0.3 carats.
All sapphires are natural, fine mid-blue with good transparency and no evidence of thermal (heat) treatment.
The ring is in excellent condition, all the claws have been retipped and the stones are secure, with little to no signs of wear. She is in excellent antique condition especially considering she is over 120 years old. A very special antique ring, would make a magnificent family heirloom.
