Victorian Rose Gold Gate Bracelet with Padlock
Beautiful antique Victorian 9ct rose gold padlock gate bracelet, with engraved padlock.
A really beautiful antique bracelet, she is 20mm wide and consists of small links together producing a panther link or mesh type design. She has longer smooth links that form a cross in the centre with chevrons fanning out. All the small links have a beautiful textured finish. She is a gorgeous old rosy gold colour, she would look stunning worn with both modern or vintage rose gold pieces.
The heart padlock is beautifully chased with foliage and flowers and is hallmarked for the maker, it is stamped for 9ct. The bracelet itself has three 9ct stamps on the inside in the centre of the smooth sections. The padlock closes nice and securely and I have had a new safety chain installed on her for additional safety. Heart padlocks were often gifted as a symbol of love or given to loved ones before long periods of separation as a reminder of the giver's love.
The links themselves are in very good antique condition, there is some minor denting to some of the smaller links which would indicate they are hollowly made, however this is definitely not noticeable when worn and can only really be seen under magnification. She has a two additional loops near the padlock which could be removed if you require her shorter.
She comes with an independent professional valuation for $9,000, is a nice weight and a good length and is in very good antique condition. A very beautiful wear every day bracelet.
