Victorian 9ct Yellow Gold Locket
A beautiful and unique Victorian 9ct yellow gold locket. This diamond or cross shaped locket has been beautifully crafted, with elaborate hand chasing to both sides, and the back has a locket with an inset carnelian stone.
The front has a beautiful bunch of flowers surrounded by lovely flourishes all hand engraved on it. The back has a bit more of a geometric pattern softened with delicate foliage. The locket lid has a carnelian stone inset into it. The stone is in excellent antique condition, with only a few tiny nibbles on it's edge. The bale is nice and strong and secure also.
It is in excellent antique condition, the locket closes very securely. Inside, both sides still have their glass and frames for small photos of your loved ones. The locket is not hallmarked, but the gold has been tested and is 9 carat. I am assuming, just because she is not hallmarked that it is yellow gold over a metal frame to give it strength. She is in excellent condition and is an estate piece sourced in Australia.
This is a beautiful piece of history waiting to be loved and cherished by her new caretaker.
