Victorian Sterling Silver Graduated Curb Link Albert Chain with Heart Albertina
This is a beautiful handmade, antique graduated curb link sterling silver Albert chain. Because of its relatively short length I have combined it with a very special Albertina, which could be worn on its own as a bracelet.
Every link on this chunky, beautifully graduated Albert chain is hallmarked for sterling silver. The largest link, is hallmarked for Kay and Company of Shrub Hill Worcester UK, the t-bar is hallmarked for Henry Allday & Sons of Birmingham and the swivel is hallmarked for sterling. The t-bar and swivel both look like replacements to the original chain. The Albertina swivel is hallmarked "SOLID SILVER"
The Albertina is a beautiful one consisting of a section with three chains one a fine rope style, the other two are foxtail chains, attached to one is a gorgeous repousse heart. She is long enough to wear as a bracelet on her own. On one end I have attached a Pandora sterling connector to make attachment a bit easier.
The Albert chain is 365mm long and the Albertina 200mm. Combined they make a necklace of 560mm long. Both pieces are in very good antique condition. What a beautiful, unique wear everyday necklace.
